KFC SOUTH AFRICA

RE-IMAGINING THE MENU FOR A NEW GENERATION OF KFC STORE

When KFC required a refreshed menu design for their Braamfontien project store, DIT was tasked with creating a modern look adaptable across DDMB, kiosk, and mobile. The goal was to engage younger customers with a contemporary, on-trend vibe.

CHALLENGE

The planned menu content in-store was very standard and not very appealing to youth. Our challenge was to drive Kiosk usage with the menu board providing enticing food imagery to drive customer’s cravings.

SOLUTION

We transformed the menu experience by evolving digital boards into animated, trailer-style content for kiosks, supported by a reshoot designed to align with contemporary trends.

RESULT

The boards became a dynamic video wall that created a desire for the menu items and moved the job of selection and sales conversion to the kiosk.

LAUNCH A GLOBAL SUB-BRAND FOR ‘THE BEVERAGE GENERATION’

In 2024, KFC UK wanted to take a bold and become the destination for younger consumers craving a cold beverage with flavour variants were set to be the slurp of the town. KFC asked DIT to create a global in-store merchandising toolkit including photography, animation, and design for all touchpoints including kiosk and drive thru.

CHALLENGE

Exotic flavours were on the rise, and vibrant iced drinks had become more than just refreshment, they were a social moment. A reason to gather, and something to share. KFC already had the range- all it needed was the look, energy and attitude to match.

SOLUTION

DIT joined forces with Mother to concept, produce and design a comprehensive suite of compelling assets for KFC’s global toolkit. The result was a bold visual identify that extended across in-store and drive-thru touchpoints. Vibrant, appetising, and unapologetically impactful.

RESULT

The toolkit became one of KFC’s largest-ever global launches, first rolling out in the UK, before quickly expanding to Australia and other fast-growth markets. It went beyond simply refreshing the menu. It redefined KFC as a destination for on-trend flavour.
